1What are eyelash extensions?
If you would like longer, fuller, sexier and natural looking lashes, then eyelash extensions are for you! Eyelash extensions are a safe and glamorous way to extend the length and thickness of your own eyelashes.
Like your natural hair, these semi-permanent lashes will last through the natural life cycle of your own lashes.
Eyelash extensions come in a variety of curls, thickness, lengths and colours that can be custom tailored to any type of eyes to achieve your desired look.
CLASSIC is the application of one lash extension to one natural lash.
VOLUME is the application of ultra fine lash extensions, which are specially designed to be used in multiples to create volume: the creation of a handmade fan or bouquet of lashes.
MEGA VOLUME is similar to Volume, however, it can be customized from 7D-16D, using ultra fine lash extensions that are completely safe.
2What materials are the lashes made from?
Lashes are made from a variety of high quality materials including: faux mink, silk and Siberian mink fur. They are all made to feel and behave like real human hair. Beauty by Tammy uses only faux mink lashes because we use and promote animal cruelty-free products.
3What can I expect from my lash appointment?
For Classic Full Sets, individual lash extensions are applied to your natural lash. For Volume Full Sets, multiple ultra-fine lashes are created by hand and applied to your own natural lash one "fan" at a time. Generally, the process for a full set of eyelash extensions takes approximately 2 hours for Classic, 3 hours for Volume, and 3.5 hours for Mega Volume, depending on how many lashes are applied. A touch up appointment takes approximately 1.5-2 hours, and are recommended every 3 weeks to replace any lashes that have fallen out in their natural growth and shed cycle. Eyelash extensions are applied with a high-quality adhesive that never touches the skin.
4How do I prepare for my lash appointment?
Always arrive with no sunscreen, facial moisturizers and/or serums and clean, make-up free lashes. Please do not perm or curl your lashes prior to your appointment. Please refrain from drinking caffeinated drinks and/or taking diet pills as these products can make you jittery.
Please note that if you're coming from work and need to wash your eye makeup, it is imperative that you arrive on time for your lash appointment. A designated lash cleanser will be provided for you to wash and prep your lashes. Any time lost from your "cleansing" will not be made up as we cannot over-run your appointment into the next client's time. For best results, it is always recommended that you cleanse before you come.
5Are eyelash extensions safe?
Tammy Albanesi has taken advanced training in lash extensions and specializes in lash styling for every client. This means that we always put the health and safety of our clients first. After an initial consultation, we determine the size, length, and curl, the client's natural lashes can safely support. The lashes, adhesive, and tools we use are from Tammy's premium line of lash products. They're high quality, personally sourced and developed by Tammy. Eyelash extensions are safe when it is applied properly by a trained Lash Artist.

We highly recommend that you book your next touch up appointment at the end of your lash appointment to ensure you secure your preferred date and time slot. During peak times, (holidays, wedding/prom season, etc.) it is best to pre-book your appointments as all bookings are first-come-first-serve.

7What do I need to know about touch ups?
Your natural lashes continue to grow and shed daily. This means that if you wish to maintain your extensions, you will need to return within 3 weeks to keep them looking beautiful. Any booking beyond this time-frame is considered a FULL SET and will be charged a FULL SET pricing. Please note that you should have 50% of your lash extensions remaining to be considered a touch up appointment. We will remove any extensions that have grown out, and replace those that have naturally shed. If you do not wish to maintain your lashes, then either return for a removal or let them fall out naturally. Never attempt to remove them yourself.
We do not touch up the work of others. This means that if you come to your appointment with a set of lashes from another Lash Technician, we will have to remove the old set of lashes and put on a new set. Therefore, you will be charged the price of a full set. This is to ensure we protect the integrity of our work.
8What are your Eyelash Aftercare instructions?
  • Do not use steam room, sauna, or work out for 24 hours.
  • Clean your extensions daily with non-oily makeup removers or cleansers formulated for use with eyelash extensions.
  • Avoid rubbing, pulling, or tugging on your eyelashes.
  • Sleep on your back or side to avoid crushing lashes.
  • Use oil-free products only. No mascara, only pencil or powder eyeliner.
  • Please use a trained Lash Technician to have them removed.
  • Touch-ups are recommended within 3 weeks to maintain the fuller look.
The first 24 hours is the most important part of your aftercare, this is when the adhesive is still going through its curing process, however, even after this time, you must ensure that you treat your extensions with great care.
Prolonged exposure to excess heat and moisture will affect the retention of your eyelash extensions. Active people, and those that live in humid environments will notice that their extensions do not last as long. People that are naturally oily, feeling run down or poorly, taking medication, or have rapid lash growth cycles will also notice that their extensions will be lost quicker.
It is usual to lose between 2-5 extensions per eye every day. Your extensions will shed with your natural lashes and this is perfectly normal. Because they can shed, this means that your natural lashes remain undamaged.
9Do you guarantee your work?
We make every effort to put client satisfaction as our number one priority. There are so many different factors that affect lash retention, therefore, we offer a variety of aftercare products to meet your lifestyle needs. A mini Aftercare Kit is included with every full set booking. All aftercare products are available to purchase in-studio once you need to replenish. It is highly recommended for you to invest in a Lash Aftercare Kit to keep your lashes clean and healthy. Your extensions will last longer if they are cleaned on a daily basis with an oil-free lash cleanser. If you wear eye makeup, you will need an oil-free makeup remover. Please use products that are specially formulated for use with eyelash extensions. Sweat, sebum, makeup, dirt, and oils on the lash extensions will cause poor retention.
Due to the delicate nature of eyelash extensions, our work is ONLY guaranteed if you use our recommended aftercare products and follow our aftercare instructions. Any issues must be notified within 48 hours and you must meet these requirements in order to qualify for this guarantee.
10What are your policies?
New clients are required to pay a one-time deposit of 50% of the lash service, which is NON-REFUNDABLE, and will be deducted from your total.  We reserve the right to request a credit card on file for future bookings when necessary.

CANCELLATION:  If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before the beginning of your appointment.  If you cancel before 48 hours, we can reschedule.  If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you will be invoiced for half of the lash service.  If you NO SHOW, then you will be invoiced for 100% of the lash service.  Last minute cancellations cost because we cannot fill that appointment at such short notice.

LATENESS:  Please arrive on time for your appointment.  Any time lost from you being late will not be made up as we cannot over-run your appointment into the next client's time.  Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

PAYMENT METHODS:  Cash, EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer / e-Transfer), Debit, Visa, Mastercard, & AMEX.  Prices are in CAD and applicable taxes will be added.

REFUND:  All beauty services, training and Pro Shop purchases are a final sale and NON-REFUNDABLE.  However, client satisfaction is our number one priority.  Please let us know and we will do our best to make it right.  We truly value your business.

1What type of eyelash extensions training do you offer?
We offer Classic, Volume, and Mega Volume Eyelash Extensions training in 2 Day and 1 Day courses.  Classic Eyelash Extensions is the application of one lash extension to one natural lash.  Volume Eyelash Extensions is the application of ultra-fine multiple lash extensions, to one natural lash.  Mega Volume Eyelash Extensions is the application of ultra-fine multiple lash extensions, to one natural lash, for a very dramatic look.  It takes time, patience, and talent to master these skills.
2What is the difference between the 2 day and 1 day training? Which one is right for me?
All courses are offered in Private or Group classes.  Private classes are 1-on-1; this is recommended for those who have no previous experience in the beauty industry.  Group classes are 2 to 6 students; this is recommended for those who have a background in the beauty industry, or they are fast learners.  We keep the class sizes small so that you receive maximum time and personalized attention.

All new students need to take the 2 Day course.  Our BBT Lash Academy graduates can take the 1 Day Upgrade courses.  You may need to submit proof of your previous training in order to take some of our courses.  We will contact you to email us a copy of your certificate.

In Canada, there is no prerequisite to take the Classic course.  However, you do need Classic experience to take the Volume course, and Volume experience to take the Mega Volume course.  As a beginner, you do not need experience in the beauty industry, however, any experience is always an asset.  Graduates can go on to work in salons and lash studios, or open their own business.  You must be willing to put in the practice after you learn your new skills and techniques as it is all about hand memory.  Those who invest in themselves by taking quality training and put in the time to practice will ultimately succeed.
3What are the trainer's qualifications?
Tammy Albanesi has over 20 years experience in the beauty, makeup, and fashion industry, and 5 years experience as a corporate trainer.  Tammy is a Multi-Certified Master Lash Artist and Internationally Certified Lash Educator. She has been mentored by some of the best trainers from Canada, United States and the United Kingdom.

Tammy has invested in extensive training to stay up-to-date with current trends, with a combined total of 10 certifications in Eyelash Extensions, 1 certification in Lash Lift & Tint services, and 2 Lash Educator certifications. Any student who chooses Tammy as an Educator benefits from her superior knowledge and experience. She has spent the last 8 years as a Lash Artist, refining her craft and mastering her skills.  Tammy is very passionate to share her knowledge and skills with you so that you can run a successful eyelash beauty business!
4How do I book a training?
We offer the following courses:
  • Classic Beginner 2 Day
  • Volume Beginner 2 Day (submit your Classic certificate from your previous training)
  • Classic & Volume Refresher 2 Day (submit ONE of the following: Classic or Volume certificate from your previous training)
  • Mega Volume Beginner 2 Day (submit your Volume certificate from your previous training)
  • Volume or Mega Volume Upgrade 1 Day Course (for BBT Lash Academy Graduates only)

Please email us for dates of availability, and indicate the type of training you are looking for.  After you select your date, please pay your deposit of $500 (+ sales tax, for residents of Canada only) at the student registration page, to secure your training date.  Remaining balance must be paid in full one month prior to training.  Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and cannot be used to reschedule.  Payment for lash services and training are a final sale and no refunds will be offered.

6Why is your Beginners course 2 days?
Beauty by Tammy Lash Academy cares deeply about your career as a successful Lash Artist.  Over the course of 2 days, you will learn theory as well as practice on live models.  You are learning a completely new skill and it will take time to understand and master.  We want to ensure you are confident and be able to know what to do after finishing your course.

If you have not taken an Eyelash Extensions course before, it is very important for you to take the time to learn this highly intricate new skill.  You will be using sharp tools, with very strong adhesives, around client's eyes.  We take the time to go over the extensive training manual and you will have lots of time to practice on a live model to ensure understanding.  We also go into detail about how to run a successful eyelash beauty business and how to market your business to your target market.
7How do I prepare for my training?
Dress code is business casual, but please dress in comfortable clothing.  We will take photos at the end of the course so if you would like to dress up for that feel free to do so!  If there are tools that you would like to bring to your training, please let us know in advance.  We will provide all the tools and supplies that you will need.  You must provide your own model on day 2 of the course. If you need help acquiring a model, please let us know at least one month in advance. There is an additional fee of $50 per model for providing you with a model. Get a good night's sleep the night before and drink limited amounts of coffee the morning of, as caffeine can make your hands jittery.
8Will I get a certificate?
Yes!  Upon successful completion of your course, you will be issued a Certificate of Achievement from Beauty by Tammy Lash Academy, earning you the title of, "Certified Lash Artist."  Students taking the Classic and Volume Refresher 2 Day Course will receive dual certificates in Classic and Volume.  There is a theory and practical exam, in which you will be graded.  You will need to achieve a score of 80% or higher to pass the course.  We are absolutely confident you will understand the concepts and be able to work on live models at the end of your course because of our comprehensive program.  However, if you do not pass the course, we will mentor you to pass the course within 3 months. You will need to submit photos of your work with 3 case studies, we will provide feedback on your work, so you can make improvements.  You have 3 months from the date of the course to complete this final step.  Once you satisfy this requirement, you will pass the course. We will send your certificate in the mail, or you can pick up in-person.
9What type of support do you offer your graduates?
We offer unlimited lifetime email support for our graduates.  All inquiries will be answered on a first come first serve basis, within normal business hours.  In the rare event that you don't pass the course, we will mentor you to pass the course within 3 months. Students who work on their skills right away have a higher chance of succeeding. In our experience, the longer you wait to complete the course, the chances of succeeding decreases. That's why we recommend you take our courses when you are ready and have the time to dedicate to learning and practicing your new skills. We are truly committed to helping our students build successful careers.

10What are the details and policies for training?
DATE & TIMEClasses are held on Sundays and Mondays, 10am-6pm.  End times are approximate.  If you prefer a different training day, please email us with your request, we will do our best to accommodate based on availability.

PRICES:  Prices quoted are in CAD.  Applicable Sales Tax will be added to all courses for residents of Canada.

MODEL:  You must provide your own models. If you need help acquiring a model, please let us know at least one month in advance. There is an additional fee of $50 per model for providing you with a model.

We hope you love our products!
Due to health and safety of client’s eyes, eyelash extension products and tools are a final sale. No exchange and no refund. Please check your package immediately when it arrives. If you have any issues, please email us within 7 days of receiving your package. Damaged product will be replaced or given store credit within 14 days of receiving your package. Store credit does not expire and can be used towards your next online purchase.
2What are your shipping policies?

3What kind of lashes do you offer?
We currently carry Synthetic Mink lashes made from the finest PBT fibers. They are made to look and feel like real mink lashes. They are soft, beautiful, black in colour, with a matte finish. All products in our Pro Shop, including the Synthetic Mink Lashes, are sourced from animal-cruelty free facilities.
4What are the best ranges for the adhesive and which adhesive is the right one for me?
In order to get the best out of your adhesive, please note the information listed with each adhesive. Monitoring and adjusting your environment to the optimal levels in humidity and temperature will ensure your adhesive will perform best under these conditions.

We have two adhesives to meet your needs:

Passion Lash Adhesive – Our go-to BLACK adhesive is fast and reliable. Formulated to work well in any environment and for all levels of Lash Artists. Perfect for both Classic or Volume.

Vision Lash Adhesive – Our most advanced CLEAR adhesive. Perfect for those who work fast, coloured lashes, or have clients who are allergic to the carbon black ingredient found in black adhesives. Perfect for both Classic or Volume.

*Pro tip: Use a hygrometer to measure, monitor, and adjust your environment, to ensure you are always working in your adhesive’s optimal range.
5How do I store my adhesive and how long is the adhesive good for?
Please store your adhesive in a dry place with cool temperature. An opened bottle can be used for up to 4-8 weeks with proper care. An un-opened bottle can be stored in a sealed zip lock bag with silica gel packet for up to 6 months. We do not recommend storing your adhesive in the refrigerator or freezing it, as condensation can cause polymerizing (your adhesive can start to cure).
Remember to "burp," wipe, and clean your nozzle. Ensure you store it upright with the cap on tight. Otherwise, air can get inside the bottle and cause your adhesive to cure prematurely.
These are guidelines only. If your adhesive becomes stringy when it comes out of the bottle, then it has most likely been exposed to moisture and needs to be replaced. Many Lash Artists prefer to replace their adhesive once a month on average as this will ensure you are working with the freshest adhesive.
6Why is your adhesive sold out?
Our adhesive is manufactured in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. We do our best to anticipate market demand, however, we sincerely apologize in advance as there will be times when we are sold out. Please plan ahead and always order a back-up adhesive.
7When will I get my shipment?
During the warm and humid months (May – September), we do not ship adhesives after Thursday 12pm, EST. If you miss this cut-off mark, then your order will be held till Monday morning to be shipped out. We do not want your package to sit in the heat over the weekend as postal delivery service is only available Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. If your order does not contain an adhesive, then it will be processed according to regular shipping policies.
8Can I pick up my order?
Yes! If you live in the Greater Toronto Area and want to save on shipping fees, we are happy to offer local area pick-up as one of our shipping options. Please select “Local Area Pick-up” during checkout. You will receive address and pick up instructions in your order email after you place your order.

Please note: Local area pick-up is available Tuesday-Friday, between 10am-6pm, in Mississauga, Ontario.
All orders must be placed in advance online, will be processed the same business day and available for pick-up the next business day.
We will hold your order for 10 business days. After this time, if you have not picked up your order, you will be invoiced $15 for the shipping fee. We will ship out your package after receiving payment. If we do not receive payment within 3 days, then your order will be returned in the amount you ordered for STORE CREDIT only.
NO REFUNDS, and no exceptions are made.
Store credit does not expire and you can use towards your next online purchase.

To pick up your order, please bring your order receipt (paper or digital copy), and government photo ID showing your address. If you would like to arrange for someone else to pick-up on your behalf, please email us ahead of time at contact@beautybytammy.ca.
We will not release your package to anyone else without your authorization. Your representative must bring your order receipt and show government photo ID to pick up.

9I have not received my package. What kind of help is available?
We provide a tracking number with your order so that you can see when your package is expected to arrive. Unfortunately, things do happen and once your package leaves our facility, we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please contact your carrier with the tracking number provided to see if they can locate your package. If your carrier or Canada Post can't locate your package, please contact us so we can initiate a ticket with Canada Post to rectify the situation. We sincerely apologize as we do not have control over what happens once your package is shipped.
10I received my package. How come I have to pay customs and duties?
We are proudly Canadian-owned and operated. All orders shipped within Canada do not have to pay customs and duties.

For US orders, please keep in mind there may be additional charges. Each country has different laws, therefore, we cannot guarantee that you will or will not be charged any customs taxes or duties. Any customs or import duties are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient of the parcel, and must be paid in order for the parcel to be released.
