September marks the end of a very hot summer! It’s been a busy few weeks, as I have been preparing for my daughter to attend a new school. I have agonized over this second blog post for weeks, because this post is about us getting to know each other. It’s about me being vulnerable and sharing what I feel is important for you to know about me.
Having a tendency to overthink things, this blog post proved to be one of the hardest to write. How do I encapsulate who I am, my purpose, and what I have gone through in life and business in just a few short paragraphs? I guess the answer is one blog post at a time, one word at a time, you will get to know me better. As a reformed perfectionist, it’s the only way to get over the analysis paralysis I feel about letting you in with no guards up. I promised to be authentic. You can count on me to be honest and to always bring the real.
Let’s start with the obvious. I’m a mother, wife, entrepreneur, lash artist & educator. I love being creative and I love studying entrepreneurs and their success habits. I love reading and I love listening to audiobooks, so sometimes I will have both versions of the book. I love to do this because I learned that the brain uses different parts to read versus listening. Yes, I’m a nerd like that.
I am caring and loyal to a fault. My mama raised me to be a good person with strong morals and values. I am the friend who is willing to tell you the truth, even if it hurts, because you deserve to know. I cannot stand gossip, negativity, or small-minded people, so I work tirelessly to ensure that I am surrounded by people with the right mindset. I believe in treating people with respect, even when you disagree with their opinions. There’s room for all of us to co-exist, and enjoy all the things this world has to offer. Love your partner, friend, sister, neighbor just a little bit more and you can see the kindness have a ripple effect on the world.
Last year I was asked to participate in a project by my friend and colleague Lori Kim, owner of Eye Candy Lash + Brow Boutique. She interviewed me and wanted to share my story to highlight the Canadian talent in the lash industry. I am so honoured to be featured as the first Lash Artist in her blog series, “The Stories of a Lash Artist.” It would mean so much to me if you read Lori’s interview about me and leave a comment. You can read my story here.
If there’s something you want to know about me, send me an email or comment below! I will do my best to answer it in an upcoming blog post!
